1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how The Honest Chemist LLC ("The Honest Chemist," "we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit honestchemist.com (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us.

2. The information we collect
a) Information you provide to us. When you submit a form on the Site — a quote/RFQ request, a datasheet (TDS/SDS) request, or a custom-polymer request — we collect the information you choose to give us, which may include:
- your name;
- your company or organization name;
- your business email address;
- your telephone number (if you provide it);
- the product(s) or specifications you are interested in, and, for the resin selector, the requirements you selected (for example, sector, application, performance priorities, and compliance requirements);
- estimated volumes, delivery terms (CIF, FCA, or DDP) and destination or origin details you enter; and
- any other information you include in a message or notes field.
b) Information collected automatically. We use Umami, a privacy-focused, self-hosted web-analytics tool, to understand how the Site is used in aggregate. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track you across other websites. It records anonymized, aggregated statistics such as pages viewed, approximate country, referring site, and device or browser type. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party ad networks, or cross-site tracking technologies on the Site.
c) Information from our administrators. Access to our back-office is limited to authorized personnel who sign in using a secure sign-in method. This does not involve collecting information from Site visitors.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we do not collect payment card information through the Site (the Site does not process payments or sell products online).
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your quote, datasheet, or custom-formulation request and provide the information or pricing you asked for;
- communicate with you about your inquiry and about products and services relevant to your request;
- prepare and, where a business relationship follows, fulfill orders under a separate written agreement;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; and
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We will only send you commercial or marketing email where permitted by law, and every such email will include an unsubscribe mechanism. You can opt out of non-transactional email at any time.
4. Do Not Track
Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites and do not use cross-site tracking technologies, we do not receive information that would let us respond differently to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals. Accordingly, the Site does not respond to DNT signals. No third parties collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Site.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. We may share the categories of information described above with the following categories of recipients:
- Affiliated companies within our group. Because we source products from and coordinate with our affiliated European companies, we may share your inquiry and contact details with those affiliates in order to respond to and fulfill your request.
- Service providers (processors) who perform services on our behalf and are bound to protect your information — for example, our website hosting provider (Vercel), our database and infrastructure provider (Supabase), our email service provider, and our internal business and productivity tools (such as Google Workspace).
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, and insurers, where reasonably necessary.
- Legal and safety recipients, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
6. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our group includes companies in the European Union. Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, the European Union, or other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
7. Data retention
We keep the information you provide for as long as necessary to respond to and act on your request and to maintain our business relationship, and for a reasonable period afterward — generally no longer than seven years — to comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it.
8. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, including encryption of data in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You may review, correct, update, or request deletion of the information you have provided by contacting us at admin@honestchemist.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
California residents. California law (including CalOPPA) gives you the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and how we share it — all described in this Policy. To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) applies to us, California residents also have rights to request access to, correction of, and deletion of their personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" (as those terms are defined under California law) your personal information. To make a request, contact us using the details above.
EEA and UK residents. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and applicable data-protection law (such as the GDPR or UK GDPR) governs our processing of your information, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Our lawful bases for processing are typically your consent, our legitimate interests in responding to your inquiry and operating our business, and taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
10. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for businesses and professional users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date and provide a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
